The Piece London

Striking 1889 15ct Sapphire & Diamond Bangle

£625 Sold out

Those Victorians certainly knew how to keep their bangle game on point, and this gorgeous sapphire and diamond number in 15ct yellow gold is a shining example of pieces from this era.

This ornate bangle is fully hallmarked for 15ct gold, dating to 1889, and the heavy ribbon of metal is festooned with detailed semi-circles of gold. The rich gold tone suggests it was - at the time it was made - gilded in even higher carat gold.

The old-cut sapphire is flanked by two diamonds, in alternating lozenge and square settings.

Whilst this piece has likely always had a safety chain, the chain currently in situ is a more recent, 9ct, addition.

Offered in excellent antique condition with patina but no dents or eye-visible scratches.

Material: 15ct yellow gold (solid), diamonds and sapphire

Weight: 9.55g

Size: will fit up to a 6.25" / 16.25 cm wrist. The widest part of the bangle has an interior width of 56.8mm or 2.25"
