Start here if you’d like to commission a piece📍
We believe that jewellery should be fun, and commissioning a piece unique to you should also be exciting.
The best way to start the bespoke process is to email us at info@thepiecelondon.com with details of the piece you'd like to create and the gemstones you'd like to incorporate. Not really sure what you're after? We can help fill in the gaps of a broad brief - if all you’ve got is ‘blue and gold’, we’ve got you! It's also useful to have a sense of your budget so that we can guide gemstone choices and sizes accordingly.
Once we've discussed and understood your brief, we will give an approximate price guide, and ask you to purchase a Commission Card, redeemable against your commission. A Commission Card is essential for any piece involving the sourcing of gemstones.
Once we have sourced gemstones for your consideration, details and videos of the gems will be shared with you, alongside the antique or new gold being used. We request that you share your thoughts on the selection within two days - if we do not hear from you within two days, we cannot guarantee the full selection will remain on hold for you. As necessary, we will source another stone selection based on your feedback.
Once you have selected your stone(s), confirmed your setting style and ring size, we will begin production of your piece. Please allow 6 weeks from confirmation of the above details for your piece to be fully made and ready for dispatch.
Before committing to the process, there's some nitty gritty to read through and ensure you are absolutely comfortable with:
Payment
For items with a total price over £1000 we request a 50% deposit after gemstones have been selected and approved by you, with the balance payment payable upon completion. Your Commission Card credit is redeemable against your initial payment.
For pieces costing under £1000, we request full payment upfront.
Lead times
Lead times for creating your piece vary depending on the time of year. We would expect a 6 week wait from confirmation of all details to completion, which could be a little longer for pieces started in November - December. If your piece is ready earlier, we will let you know, and if necessary you can defer the balance payment / shipment date until the expected (6 week) lead time has passed.
All of our pieces are made to the highest standard in our UK workshop.
Duties & Fees
For commissions, VAT / duties are included in the purchase price for customers in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia.
Returns & refunds
Bespoke items, when fitting the specification outlined, are non-returnable and non-refundable. That is not to say that your journey with us ends when you receive your piece. If there are issues please be in touch and we will work with you to remedy them - regardless of where in the world you're located.
We are committed to full transparency, should you have any concerns or queries regarding the above, please get in touch!
