Mid-Century Italian Fortuna Pendant - 18ct
Fortuna, the Roman Goddess of luck, is often featured blindfolded to symbolise the randomness of fortune, be it good or bad. An important talisman for millennia, she's also often also featured alongside the Wheel of Fortune which Fortuna is said to spin at random, changing lives and highlighting the capricious nature of fate.
Both feature in this true vintage pendant, made from rich yellow gold. The pendant is fully detailed on both sides, so no concern of it flipping!
With wonderful presence at 31.6mm wide, the pendant has a nice weight to it. The head of Fortuna is made from two thick sheets of gold pressed together - at the widest part it is hollow.
We know this piece dates to prior to 1968 as the hallmark of "84 AR" doesn't feature a star. Offered in very good vintage condition (save one tiny dent, pictured) with wonderful patina.
Material: 18ct yellow gold
