The Piece London
Victorian Sweetheart Ring with Diamond Sash
We all know those Victorians were BIG on symbolism rich jewellery, but this petite beauty is an excellent example of less being more.
Two pretty, domed hearts nestle together, with a diamond studded sash resting across the two, uniting them. The diamond sash runs to the detailed and ornate shoulders of the ring.
This ring would have been given as a 'sweetheart' ring, quite possibly as a sign of intent to marry, long before the diamond solitaire dominated the engagement arena.
Crafted from 18ct yellow gold, and hallmarked in Chester in 1900, this ring is in excellent antique condition with no evidence of a past resize. One small diamond has been expertly replaced by us.
