New Gembellished Dog Clasp - Pixel Peabugs!
At the Tucson gem fair I learnt the hard way that 'peabug' - the word I quite avidly used to describe these distinctive pixel cuts - is a hyper regional word from my birthplace for what the rest of the English speaking world calls woodlice or pill-bugs. I think we can all agree Peabug is cuter.
Our Pixel Peabug offerings to date have sold out amid much competition, so we have special ordered some tourmaline and garnets to be made into 9ct yellow gold with our newly made dog clasps from our Italian clasp specialist.
The clasps themselves swivel 360 degrees and open and close smoothly. They have an excellent form, so very close to antique it's hard to tell them apart, and a bright yellow tone.
We would be bezel setting your gem in 9ct yellow gold and adding a 6mm ring at the other end. If you would prefer a double sided clasp (a dog clip at each end) this would be £150 extra, let us know after you order.
Specs for each variant are below. Please allow us 6 weeks to make your piece and have it en route to you!
Seafoam tourmalines (mint blue and green)
Gem measures 6 x 4mm (.43ct) - approx 7 x 5mm once bezel added - approx finished length 35mm
Garnet - smaller (grape purple) (6 x 4mm)
Gem measures 6 x 4mm (.56ct) - approx 7 x 5mm once bezel added - approx finished length 35mm
Garnet - larger (grape purple) (8 x 6mm)
Gem measures 8 x 6mm (1.48ct) - approx 9 x 7mm once bezel added - approx finished length 37mm
The dimensions of the finished pieces in the 6x4mm stones would be very similar to this piece.
