Retro Diamond & Ruby Ring C1940

£850

A beautiful ring from the retro period (late 1930s-1940s), embodying many classic style choices of the time, brought together in a way we've not seen before.

A stylised take on the classic 'buckle ring', a large old cut diamond and calibre cut rubies stud this piece, and a tactile, ridged shank flows along the entirety of the band.

The rubies and diamond have been set in white gold to really help them pop. The rubies are synthetic, which is very common in pieces from this era.

Modelled in 10ct rose gold, we believe this piece originates from Canada, thanks to the 'psuedo' hallmark in the form of a crown.

The diamond has excellent sparkle, an open culet and a lovely size to it, with the spread of a half carat diamond, but with an actual weight of approx .4 carats.

Offered in very good condition with minor nibbles to the rubies, this piece has had its stones tightened by our setter and this ring is ready to dazzle you!
