Divine Diamond & Platinum Plaque Ring 1910-1920

£1,950 Sold out

A wonderful ring dating to the 1910-20 period, made in platinum and adorned with a cobbled selection of diamonds totalling approx 1.37cts.

The rectangular plaque has a four-petaled flower shape to the centre, to which the largest diamonds are set. The settings have ornate milgrain detail which is still evident despite some wearing down over time. The ring has crisp edges and the ornate gallery which sits low to the finger makes it easy and comfortable to wear, and ensures there's something to enjoy from all angles!

The diamonds themselves each have natural variations, many sport high crowns typical of old cuts. The subtle variation in shape and colour of the stones is a large part of this rings charm. One thing all the stones have in common is that they are extremely lively and have open culets.

We suspect the centre-most stone to be a replacement as the diamond cut is more modern than the surrounding stones (though it still sports an open culet, it's closer to a modern brilliant than a true old cut). All stones have been checked and had their settings tightened where necessary.
