The Piece London
Divine and Solid 15ct Gold Locket
If you are a fan of timeless Victorian design, geometry and solid 15ct gold then this locket is the perfect addition to your collection.
This beautifully formed square locket with captivating cut-away detail to the outer corners dates from circa 1890 and is an unusual design for a locket, which are more typically round or oval shape.
The boldness of the design shines through in the two perfectly smooth faces - if you forget your pocket mirror this will do in a pinch - presenting as an undoubtedly solid slab of slightly warm toned 15ct yellow gold.
The interior has spaces for two photos or momentos if you so desire, and is currently unoccupied.
15 carat gold is collectible in its own right, and was used in British pieces from 1850 - 1932 when it was discontinued. It is distinctive in its high carat look, weight and feel, as well as its tone.
This piece is presented in very good antique condition with a handful of very minor dings (as photographed). Please note that only the item described is for sale in this listing - other jewellery items and boxes are illustrative only.
