Beautiful 15ct Starburst Necklace (Pendant & Chain)

This necklace is a beautiful example of starburst jewellery, which was popular in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.

The pendant is an unusual take on this celestial motif, reminding us also of a snowflake, and is a delightful rendition. 

Studded with seed pearls and topped with an original bale, we date this 15ct piece to C1900.

The accompanying chain is more than a mere supporting act, with a beautifully chased barrel clasp, tag hallmark, and satisfying 5g+ weight.

We believe the chain and pendant to be original to one another - though it is  impossible to be sure. They are certainly a very good match in gold tone.

This piece is offered in excellent and original antique condition.
