A gorgeous, bright yellow 9ct gold chain dating to C1900 - formerly a long guard which we have converted to a 21" chain, fastening closed with a beautiful antique dog clasp from our collection.

What can I tell you about the chunky ~4.5mm wide links? Well apart from being gently faceted (helloooo shimmer!), they are solid. Often links of this style are sheets of gold curled into themselves but these are robust and in excellent condition for their age!

One thing people always ask me is, do these chains kink? These aren't free rolling links (they are made up of sets of soldered together pairs) but thanks to the weight of this piece, when I road tested for the weekend, I had no issues.

Offered in excellent condition - an excellent antique staple.
