Antique Chain Ring - Peacock Tanzanite

If you've been following this journey in gems for a while, you already know about unheated (peacock or mermaid) tanzanite.

But if you haven't! Tanzanite is trichroic, meaning you can see three colours depending on the angle you observe it at. It is routinely heated to smooth out these colours and give a simple blue or purple.

When it's not heated? It can show all three - blue, purple and green - with a grayish undertone. I think it's spectacular. The gems that show green are the hardest to find, and that's what i'm presenting to you in this piece.

This cushion cut example has been matched with bright peachy rose gold antique chain measuring 5.1mm wide and stamped to every link. In our rose gold bubble back setting the chain flows seamlessly into the bezel.
