Show-Stopping Antique 15ct Curb Chain

£3,150 Sold out

Truly a piece to get excited about, this 15ct antique chain has all the bells and whistles - double stamped links, tight curb, two bolt rings, dog clasp and t-bar.

And at 18.5" long, the styling options are endless.

This piece doesn't have date stamps but does have two makers marks (on the t-bar and dog clasp) for Manton & Mole, a high end manufacturer of high carat chains based in Birmingham from 1860-1920.

Albert chains are often shorter at around 15", and this one was too at some point. At some point in its past (we would hazard also in antiquity) 1.5" of yellow gold curb has been added to the chain at either end to add this extra length. Whilst perfectly matching in style and shape, these ends are a slightly more yellow tone of gold. We think this blends so as to be unrecognisable when worn. The gold on these sections tests as just under 15ct (approximately 61% pure gold, 15ct is 62.% pure gold).

Offered in very good antique condition, some stamps on some links are worn, but not heavily.
