A weighted orb compass which swivels to show the (fully functioning) compass face when you hold it up to the eye. Otherwise, the piece sits as a spherical orb. Pretty neat!
Formed from 18ct rose gold, there are the remains of what I believe to be French hallmarks on the eyelet, but they're so worn they simply cannot be read. The cardinal directions are listed as N (north), O (east), S (south) and W (west) which lines up with the german language. So a little European mystery there!
There is a ding to the top of the pendant - pictured - but otherwise in excellent working condition.
