Watch Case // Shaker Locket

A salvaged creation, rescuing and reimagining this watch case from the scrap pile!

Watch cases are made with love and care, often featuring full hallmarks and beautiful finishing to the interior of the case, unusual shapes and designs. At the end of their lives these pieces are so often melted which seems a shame, so we save the best to become shaker lockets.

First, new scratch resistant watch glass is cut to the (generally unique) watch, then we select the perfect stones to be encased in the creation. Then we remove the lugs, and the front and back are permanently soldered shut and a jump ring added to create a pendant. We leave a hole where the dial once was as a nod to its previous form and also to allow any condensation to clear should it get wet (but do try and avoid it!).

This watch case // shaker locket has full UK hallmarks for 1938 and a pleasing shape. It has been filled with juicy cabochon rubies and an array of fancy cut deep blue sapphires.
