Antique Trefoil Ring with Padparadscha Sapphire & Tourmaline
We came across this antique ring in a sorry state: loose stones and paste replacements. Though we fell in love with the quality of the gold work and bifurcated shoulders, all in a rich yellow 18ct gold.
We set about replacing the stones and envisioned this lady in pinks and so we splashed out on a padparadsha sapphire (revered for their peachy-pink tones) alongside two pink tourmalines.
The result is this beautifully romantic piece, in pink and peach tones. The setting dates to C1890, the trefoil motif has a perfect little stem to symbolise a clover, and has been used since pagan times to symbolise the joining of three things, or concepts.
Offered in excellent condition.
