Perfect Jade Stud Earrings

£500 Sold out

A simply beautiful pair of high quality jade stud earrings, classic yet a visible statement at 12.3mm across.

Jade is a remarkable gemstone, hard wearing and revered for its long-asserted mystical and protective qualities. It's also very interesting from a traditionally scientific perspective, with an interlocking polycrystaline structure which makes it very tough indeed - it would take a great deal to knock a chip out of it!

Lower grade jade is bleached and potentially also dyed (B or C grade). We see no evidence of either practice in these studs which we believe to be 'A' grade.

Set in 9ct gold - lovely robust settings - with migrain detail, these earrings certainly have age but with no markings it's hard to pin them down precisely, but we believe them to have been made in the first half of the 20th century.

Offered in excellent condition, butterfly backs are not original but are a good secure fit.
