The Piece London

Heavy Victorian Enamelled 'AEI' Locket

£2,250 Sold out

'AEI' represents 'amity, eternity, infinity' and was a popular Victorian motif in remembrance jewellery.

This heavy (and we mean it - 23.85g to be precise) locket is formed from 18ct yellow gold with features frequently seen in the Etruscan Revival period - dating the piece to circa 1870.

It has held up well - with the enamel being in mint condition. There is a section of the granulated rope border to the bottom left of the locket missing, which is a shame but not tremendously noticeable.

The locket opens and clicks shut well, the reverse has a plain back should you wish to add your own engraving. The large jump ring has age but is not original to the piece and tests as 15ct gold.

A super collectible and unique piece!
