The Piece London
Emerald & Diamond Lavalier Necklace
A wonderful antique pendant, with a 9ct gold back and silver top, embellished with natural emeralds and diamonds and dating to circa 1910.
This exciting piece has been intricately made: the stones are all set into 9ct gold, while the diamond elements have been topped with silver, and the emeralds in gold.
The central emerald cut emerald weighs approximately 0.25ct and is surrounded by calibre cut stones. One of these small calibre cuts is badly chipped, but is so small this is not visible to the naked eye. Another is a paste replacement, perfectly matched and only apparent when testing.
The diamonds are a blend of old-mine-cuts, single cuts, and chips (depending on size).
Offered on a removable sterling silver chain, which may be original to the piece and is a good match in tone and wear.
Materials: natural emeralds (one very small paste replacement), diamonds, 9ct gold and silver
Other dimensions: lavalier is 39.6mm long, 27.2mm wide
