Delightful Amethyst Cabochon and Pearl Ring
This antique ring mixes the ancient and modern seamlessly, and is waiting to be the latest stand-out jewel in your collection.
A foiled back amethyst cabochon is surrounded by a halo of milky-white pearls absolutely brimming with luster. These pearls are set in crimped collet settings of rose gold. The lilac amethyst, bright pearls and rose gold create a mesmerising colour palette for this piece.
We believe these elements of the ring to be late Georgian / early Victorian (1830 - 1850).
The band is a solid, wide, ribbon of gold (this is a newer addition) matched perfectly in tone to the setting of the head and gallery of the piece. This luxurious band adds a contemporary edge and timeless quality to this piece.
This ring is in very good antique condition. There is minor damage to the foiling creating a north-south line behind the stone, visible in the photographs. Our jeweller has checked security of all the pearls, and replaced one. However this is an antique ring and we advise caution on wearing and removal for any manual activities! As the setting is foiled this ring must not be exposed to water.
