Delectable Banded Agate Celestial Mourning Brooch

This brooch, you just can't stop looking at it. 

Banded agate was wildly popular in the victorian period, and can be seen in many curious forms, though we have never seen it combined with turquoise.

Set in a yellow base metal, a halo of reconstituted turquoise surrounds a satisfying large cabochon of banded agate, into which a further star of turquoise is set.

This piece is in good antique condition, with some wear to one of the central stones and a small amount of visible glue work, both only visible under a loupe.
